With more than two decades in the documentary/television industry, Mick Richards has established himself as a gifted artist combining his talents as producer, director, writer, cinematographer, editor and composer. His creative talents and achievements began in the corporate industry and are well established as valuable assets for ministries and non-profits.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Richards worked as a producer and owner of DeepLight Productions/Entertainment working in local creative and corporate production for most of his early career.
He served as a Board Member for the Northeast Florida Builders Association, as well as for Transformation Jacksonville, an organization helping to facilitate prayer movements in Jacksonville and the First Coast Florida area.
At a deciding moment in his life, Richards felt the call to change course to go deeper and wider in his walk and giftings as a Christian, and he eventually became a Go To Nations media missionary. He very quickly began studying missions movements and strategies by serving local and global missions organizations with creative media.
Some of those movements will be featured in his documentary series Building a Difference, highlighting a variety of missions movements across the country and some overseas. Recently, he helped lead a small team of young missionaries on the Movements of Compassion Tour, an initiative of Building a Difference, which lead him and some of his team to New York City.
In NYC, Richards was asked to serve as the Director of Saturate NY Metro, an organization with the vision to help unite 5-20 churches in every zip code in the NY Metro area with creative city-reaching strategies and outreach resources. This led to stepping in as the Director of Jesus Week NYC, where he helps facilitate churches in a massive week and summer-long creative outreach event in the NY Metro area.
As a result, he became well-connected with numerous NYC missions movements – such as CitiVision, Hope Day Network, Love New York, Urban Hope, etc. – and partners with them providing creative media. Established in these NYC platforms, he is currently working on producing a New York City missions documentary film series as a part of Building a Difference.
As Project Leader and Media Coordinator of Saturate USA, an organization with the goal to reach 120 million homes with the Gospel within the next ten years, he produces all the video presentations and leads the Saturate New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Chicago and several Florida projects. His team helps facilitate churches in adopting zip codes, receiving free evangelistic materials and sending out church members to hand deliver the Gospel to every home in their zip code.
He serves as Media Lead on the powerful and aggressive outreach movements Love New York and Love Chicago, with the focus of week-long 24/7 prayer, worship and outreach events. He just finished producing a short film featuring the Love Chicago movement. It is currently showing at select churches to help bring awareness to the “Love Your City/Firebase Movement.”
Richards spent 3 months in Chicago in 2018 as Cinematographer and 2nd Unit Director for the Chicago: America’s Hidden War film, currently in post-production. While there, he served as Media Coordinator for Jesus Summer, a 40-day outreach event in Chicago, where he captured film footage of grassroots missions movements for a Chicago Missions Story as a part of future Building a Differenceproductions.
During summer/fall of 2019, Richards served as Project Leader for First Coast United, a local movement in the Jacksonville, FL area with the goal to unite 4 counties and 56 zip codes in a coalition of churches to reach over 600,000 homes with the Gospel through the Saturate First Coast initiative. He created the website FirstCoastUnited.org as a way show how churches are uniting in a strengthened First Coast Church and Prayer Coalition. The site is packed with stats, zip code maps, testimonies, a video library and even a First Coast United Radio Show.
Mick Richards is currently focusing on producing new episodes for Building a Difference featuring these and many other missions movements.
